Mastoid Retractor is a self-retaining retractor. It has a ring-handle design which also includes a ratchet that is able to control the spread of the blades and lock them in place to expose an open wound. It has curved shanks that lead to blades with outward curving prongs. The instrument is offered with either sharp or blunt prongs in a variety of prongs configuration and in patterns of varying lengths. The prongs interdigitate when the instrument is closed.
